| What is the difference between
a vented system and unvented system? |
| A vented system relies on gravity
to feed the domestic water to the cylinder, the
water is stored in a header tank (usually situated
in the loft) and filled as the water level drops.
An unvented system relies on the incoming mains
feed and relies on water pressure, this can enable
far better pressure in showers and baths. |

| What is the difference between
direct and indirect cylinders? |
| A direct cylinder circulates the
water from the cylinder through the heating circuit
(boiler or solar) to be heated, the indirect system
has either 1 or 2 heating coils which circulates
a glycol fluid through the heating circuit and then
transfers the heat into the cylinder. An indirect
system is better as there is less damage from limescale
and less risk of freezing or overheating. |

| What happens when there is not
enough sun light? |
| The solar cylinder works in a way
where the water temperature is monitored, should
it be too low the backup system will activate to
heat the water at the top of the cylinder while
the solar still pre-heats the water in the lower
part of the cylinder ensuring maximum efficiency. |
